Staten Island, NY - Julia Lipovac combined for two hits and two RBI's in a double-header matchup against Staten Island on Saturday, March 30^th. Staten Island won both games 4-3 in game one and 10-2 in game two.
 
Hunter scored two runs in first inning against Staten Island sparked by an RBI single to second base by Holly Isenberg. Isenberg's single brought home Brianna Kresback then shortly Julia Lipovac also singled for an RBI scoring Sophia Ponce. The Hawks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead over Staten Island.
 
Pitcher Angelica Iacovetti surrendered eight hits and two earned runs. She struck out four batters in a complete game for the Hawks. Staten Island scored one run in first inning, another run in the sixth inning, then scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Hunter.
 
Hunter had six hits in game one. Sophia Ponce led the Hawks with two hits and a sacrifice fly-out RBI to center field in the fifth inning.  She also added nine putouts defensively.
 
In game two, Julia Lipovac hit a single through the left side  scoring Brianna Kresback in the first inning. That was the Hawks only score of the game as Staten Island cruised to a 10-2 victory over Hunter.  Angelica Iacovetti led with two hits while Brianna Kresback and Julia Lipovac each had a hit.
 
Pitcher Erika Colangelo struck out three hitters while relief pitcher Amanda Annicaro struck out one batter.
 
Hunter (2-12) will host St. Joseph's College on Tuesday, April 2^nd at Randall's Island for a 1:00 p.m. double header.
