Purchase, NY – The Hawks dropped a double-header matchup against Manhattanville (0-14 & 0-7) on Wednesday, April 10
th.
Meghan O'Shea recorded Hunter's only hits in game one of a double-header with two singles against Manhattanville. Hunter lost 14-0 after Manhattanville scored six runs in the first inning and eight runs in the second inning.
Pitcher Briana Lombardo suffered the defeat allowing six runs on six hits. Sara Beck was the next pitcher and gave up five hits as Manhattanville added on eight runs. Hunter's Angelica Iacovetti kept Manhattanville scoreless in the final two innings, striking out one batter and only allowing two hits.
In the later game, both
Molly Meehan and
Julia Lipovac each had two hits but Manhattanville pounded out 12 hits and shutout Hunter 7-0.
Sophia Ponce and Nicole Fillisetti added a hit each as the Hawks recorded six hits total.
Manhattanville scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the third inning, and four runs in the fifth inning for the victory.
Pitcher Leslie Dempsey took the loss after four innings pitched where she struck out two batters. Angelica Iacovetti pitched in relief and allowed only one run on four hits.
The Hawks drop to 6-18 overall. Hunter will host Mount St. Mary College at Randall's Island on April 11
th at 3:00 p.m. in their next game.
