Hawks Softball Dominates John Jay, 9-2 & 15-4

Pitcher Angelica Iacovetti struck out a season-high 11 batters in the first game of a double-header win over John Jay.
 
Meghan O'Shea had three RBIs in a 9-2 victory over John Jay in game one of a double-header on Friday, April 19th at Randall's Island. Molly Meehan, Sophia Ponce, Angelica Iacovetti, and Meghan O'Shea all recorded two hits each as the team combined for 10 total hits.
 
Hunter scored two runs in the first, second, and fourth innings while capping their victory by adding on three more runs in the sixth inning. Molly Meehan paced the Hawks by scoring four runs.
 
Pitcher Angelica Iacovetti (2-7) struck out a season-high 11 batters while holding the Bloodhounds to two hits and two runs. John Jay scored their only runs in the third inning on a home run to left centerfield, but had nine fielding errors.
 
In the later game, Meghan O'Shea went three for four at the plate including a double down the leftfield line in the fourth inning scoring Molly Meehan and Kristen McGoldrick. Sophia Ponce also went three for four at the plate and exploded for five RBIs as the Hawks cruised to a 15-4 win.
 
Hunter's offense combined for 18 total hits. Sara Beck picked up the win after pitching the complete game while striking out nine batters.
