Hawks Drop Double-Header Against Richard Stockton

Pomona, NJ – The Hunter Hawks softball team lost both games of a double-header to Richard Stockton College on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks fell in the 1st game 5-0 and lost the 2nd 8-0.

In Game 1, the Hawks (1-1) managed only two hits against Osprey's starting pitcher Brittany Ksiezopolski. Briana Lombardo got the Hawks first hit of the game with a leadoff double in the 3rd inning, she made it to third base on a groundout by Kristen McGoldrick but was stranded when Briana Kresbeck grounded out to end the inning. Kresback recorded the other hit for the Hawks in the 6th inning.

Hawks starting pitcher Erika Colangelo pitched 4.1 innings and gave up 3 runs on 8 hits while striking out 3. Sierra Noud came in, in relief and pitched 1.2 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits with 1 strikeout.

In game 2, the Hawks (1-2) were no-hit by Osprey's starting pitcher Michelle Pietrocola who struck out 8 and issued only 1 walk. Taylor Crofts was the only Hawk to reach base on a 4th inning walk. Sara Beck took the loss for the Hawks, going 5.2 innings giving up 7 runs on 9 hits and striking out 2.

The Hawks return to action Tuesday March 25th when the travel to Montclair, NJ to take on Montclair St. University in a double header.
