BOX SCORE 2 Queens, NY – The Hunter softball team lost a double-header matchup against CSI Monday afternoon at Queens College.
The Dolphins won game one 10-0 and game two 7-2.
In game one, the Hawks were no-hit by Dolphins starting pitcher Jacqueline Cautela. She went 5 innings striking out five batters and walking one.
The Dolphins put runs on the board in every inning but the 5
th.
Hawks starter
Erika Colangelo pitched 2.1 innings giving up 6ER and striking out two.
Sierra Noud came in and pitched the final 2.2 innings giving up 1ER on four hits with 2 strikeouts.
In game two, the Hawks fared much better offensively but seven team errors led to all seven Dolphins runs.
In the 3
rd inning, the Dolphins took a 3-0 lead on RBI doubles by Chyanne Gilliam and Victoria Procopio. In the bottom half of the inning the Hawks responded. With the bases loaded,
Aleta Terrill grounded out to the 2
nd baseman but she threw it away allowing
Briana Kresback and
Taylor Crofts to score.
The Dolphins would score three more unearned runs in the 5
th-7
th innings to make the score 7-2.

Sara Beck pitched 7 innings giving up 10 hits and striking out three.
With the two losses, the Hawks fall to 9-10 overall and 6-2 in CUNYAC. The Hawks return to action Wednesday with a double-header against Brooklyn College. First game is scheduled to start at 3pm.
