The Hunter swimming and diving team continued their winning ways after defeating Division II institution, Queens College, by a score of 63-32. The Hawks remain unbeaten and advance their record to 4-0 in convincing fashion that included two two relay wins and five individual victories.

The 200 yard medley relay team comprised of Kelly Xue, Carla Canning, Madeline Hew and Emily DiPaola kicked off the meet by earning seven points toward the team scoring thanks to a 2:03.56 performance. The "B" team with Grace Huezo, Mei Liu, Pasang Sherpa and Vivian Chen snagged second in the same event.

Irene Collins topped the four-swimmer field with a time of 12:09.51 after trailing in the early stages of the race. At the midway point, she made a move, caught up to the Queen's College competitor, and slowly pulled away en route to a personal best time. Jessica Lou and DiPaola challenged the top 200-freestyle from queens for the first half of the race before finishing in second and third respectively.

Pero and Fedorov went 2-3 in the 50 freestyle respectively with times of 27.19 and 27.9 to help keep the lead in the team competition while Lou and fedorov placed the same in the 100 freestyle. Alexandra Rubiano cruised to a victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:23.43 while teammate Xue claimed third in 2:31.93.
The 100 Backstroke was where the Hawks asserted their dominance with Hew and Xue sweeping the event in 1:08.15 and 1:10.02. while Collins added a second place finish to her day after clocking in at 6:05.98 in the 500 freestyle.
After the Second break, Canning and Lou swept the 100 Breaststroke, securing the win for the Hawks for the night, and still dominated the 200 Freestyle relay for the win against a stacked relay from Queens.
"This was one of the greatest team efforts I have seen," explained Co-Head Coach Scott Bintner. "There wasn't a single swimmer that backed down. Andrew and I went in knowing it should be a close meet, but what the team did tonight was phenomenal. Queens has always been one of our biggest non-conference rivals and as a Division II team, to have the team step up and win in such a commanding fashion, shows us that we have a really special team. I could not be more proud of the swims I saw tonight. This was a big win in a big way."

The Hawks return to action on Friday, December 4 when they host St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) in front of the homecoming crowd at 6pm.
