BOX SCORE 2 HOBOKEN, NJ - The Hunter Hawks softball team have won the first two games of the ECAC Tournament Championship Rounds on Sunday afternoon beating Brooklyn College 5-1 and beating Stevens Tech 7-5. The Hawks will play the Stevens Ducks in a winner take all game to decide the 2015 ECAC DIII Metro/Upstate Championship.
Playing Brooklyn for the 6th time this season, the Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd when
Victoria Slavik belted a home run to right field.
Christine Kline would lace an RBI single in the 4th inning to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead and then
Meghan O'Shea would hit a 3-run home run to left field in the 6th inning to put the Hawks up 5-1 and give them the lead for good.
O'Shea finished the game 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 3RBIs, Slavik went 2-for-3 with 2 runs and an RBI.
Sara Beck went the distance for the Hawks limiting the Bulldogs to three hits and one run while striking out eight batters.
The Hawks followed up their victory over Brooklyn by playing Stevens Tech, with the Hawks needing a victory to stay alive in the double elimination tournament.
In the 1st inning the Hawks struck scoring three unearned runs to take a 3-0 lead and then followed that up scoring three more runs in the 2nd inning thanks to a three-run homerun by
Briana Kresback.

Erika Colangelo pitched 2 innings giving up five runs (four earned),
Sara Beck came in, in relief to pitch the final 5 innings and shut down the Ducks striking out seven batters and allowing only three hits.
