BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter Hawks softball team fell in game one of the CUNYAC/Pepsi Championship Series 8-1 to the College of Staten Island on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks fell behind in the 1st inning when the Dolphins plated two runs, highlighted by a leadoff triple.

In the top of the 2nd, the Hawks responded, getting one run back on a Taylor Crofts RBI single. From the 2nd inning on, Dolphins starter Jacqueline Cautela held the Hawks in check allowing only one more hit through the final five innings. The Hawks didn't help themsleves out, as they left seven runners on base.

The Dolphins added on another run in the 5th and exploded for five runs in the 6th to put the game away.

The Hawks will await to hear if they will be selected for the ECAC Softball Tournament.
