FLUSHING, N.Y. - Hunter College women's tennis player Olivia Funk was named CUNY Athletic Conference rookie of the week on Tuesday, as announced by the conference office.

Funk earned two singles and two doubles wins last week in the matches against Ramapo College and Kean University. She started the week with a victory in singles competition against Ramapo College, earning scores of 6-0 and 6-2. In doubles competition, Funk and partner Janani Bavanandan shut out Ramapo with a score of 8-0.

Later in the week the freshman from Hicksville, N.Y. defeated her Kean University opponent in singles competition with scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Funk and her partner then recorded another shut out in doubles, defeating Kean University 8-0. 

Funk and the rest of the women's tennis team will return to competition at Farmingdale State College on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
