Despite the loss the Hawks recorded four first-place finishes as
Alexandra Rubiano and
Lindsey Pero led the way with a top-two sweep of the 200 yard butterfly.
Grace Huezo took first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 7:00.04 and
Carla Canning got a top finish in the 100 yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1:12.42.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of
Jessica Lou,
Madeline Hew, Pero and Rubiano placed first with a time of 1:47.66 to earn the top-time in the CUNYAC this season.
"This was a good meet to start getting us ready for championship season," said co-head coach
Scott Bintner. "It came down to the finish against a loaded Manhattan relay with the Hawks getting out touched at the finish for the second-fastest time Hunter has posted this season. We were swimming very tired tonight so I'm not surprised we weren't hitting our top times of the season, but we were close enough and I'm extremely satisfied with their swims."
The Hawks will return to action on Feb. 5 for the first day of the CUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championship.
