New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's swimming opened up the 2017-18 season on Friday night, getting a win over conference opponent York College with a score of 60-24.
The Hawks took first in all events scored, starting the night with a 200 yard relay win by
Michelle Bzikot, Virgina Anne Dudon,
Samantha Helmy and
Katherine Lee.
Irene Collins took the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:51.24 and
Christina Valente posted a first-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle.
Alexandra Rubiano continued the wins with a first-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle before Hunter's
Sera Knobler took first in the 200 yard IM.
Lee,
Kelly Xue and
Gabrielle Oczos rounded out the meet for the Hawks, winning the 100 yard freestyle, 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard backstroke, respectively.
The team returns to the pool on Nov. 2 when they face John Jay College at 6 p.m.
