Men's Fencing Gets a Win Over Yeshiva at Vassar Invite

Hawks Win 15-12

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Hunter College men's fencing went 1-7 at the Vassar Invitational this past weekend, picking up a 15-12 victory against Yeshiva University.

Zaheer Booth had a solid performance on Saturday, starting the day by going 6-0, picking up wins in the sabre against Stevens and Vassar. He led the team by going 5-1 for the rest of the day, recording victories against Sacred Heart and Haverford.

Benjamin Sanits also had a successful day of competition, posting seven wins in the sabre. Douglas Martheyn led the team in the foil, tallying eight wins on the day. He led the team against Drew, going 2-1.

Aaron Bauchie posted the best Hunter record in the epee, totaling eight victories in six matches.

The team will return to action on November 17 when they compete in the Columbia Invitational.
