New York, NY – The Hunter College women's swimming program rebounded with their fifth win of the year after securing the 50-42 victory over Kean earlier this evening at the North Pool after winning all but two events.
The quartet of
Kelly Xue,
Virginia Anne Dundon,
Gabrielle Oczos and
Molly Baran began the meet with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, clocking in a time of 2:09.50. They also capped the meet with a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay courtesy of a 1:54.34 finishing time.
Individually, the Hawks swept all but two events. Julia Mammone cruised to a dominating win in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:15.61; almost a minute faster than her nearest competitor.
Alexandra Rubiano also had a convincing victory in the 200 yard freestyle as her time of 2:07.80 beat second place by 17 seconds.
Sera Knobler was a double event winner while Oczos and
Samantha Helmy rounded out the contingent of individual victors.
The Hawks return to action on Monday, December 11 when they host the Dolphins of CSI in a conference showdown. First swim is slated for a 6pm start.
