BOX SCORE 2 New York, NY - Hunter College softball opened up CUNYAC play on Friday with two wins against John Jay College, defeating the Bloodhounds 14-0 and 18-1.
The Hawks improved to 2-4 this season in their home opener at Randall's Island.
The Purple and Gold showed off an impressive offensive lineup in the first game of the day as 11 players tallied at least one hit in the victory.
Samantha Molloy and
Stefanie Abolt led the way with three hits each, as Abolt recorded 7 RBI's, including a three-run homer at the bottom of the first.
Caroline Bibula got the win on the mound, giving up just one hit.
In the Hawk's second game of the day the team continued their dominance by scoring 18 runs as
Annalise McClellan and Bibula led the squad with a combined 10 RBI's.
Going into the fourth inning with a 4-0 lead, McClellan hit a grand slam to help Hunter secure the victory.
Nicole Guzzone got the win as the Hawk's starting pitcher in the 18-1 contest.
The Purple and Gold return to action on Monday, March 27 when they travel to Lehman College.
