BOX SCORE 2 Madison, NJ - Hunter College softball split a doubleheader against Drew University on Thursday, starting the day with an 11-3 victory.
The Purple and Gold are now 10-12 overall this season, while maintaining an 8-2 conference record.
The Hawks started strong in the first game as
Victoria Slavik doubled to center field and
Annalise McClellan recorded an RBI to make the score 3-0 in the first inning.
The Rangers tied it up in the fifth, but the Hawks responded with a huge sixth inning, tallying eight runs off hits from
Caroline Bibula and Briana Manaco to secure the 11-3 win.
The Hawks stayed close to Drew in the second game, trailing 2-1 until the bottom of the fifth when The Rangers took control with four runs to make the score 6-1. Hunter came close as Slavik doubled and
Brittney Salvador hit a single to right center to help the Hawks trail by just one run. Drew managed to get a third out to take the game, 6-5.
Leanna Donahue got the win in the first game from in the cirle, while Bibula took a loss in the second.
The team returns to action on April 22 when they travel to Brooklyn College for a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
