New York, NY – The Hunter softball team secured the #2 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC/Pepsi Softball Championship. The Hawks posted a 10-2 record in conference play and earned a first round bye into the second round. Last year, the Hawks made it to the championship but were ousted by the College of Staten Island who earned the top seed this year with a 12-0 conference record.
 
Lehman (7-5 CUNYAC) narrowly edged out John Jay (6-6 CUNYAC) for the #3 seed while Baruch (5-7 CUNYAC) landed the #5 seed. Rounding out the championship field is #6 Brooklyn (2-10 CUNYAC). The first round gets underway on Wednesday, May 3^rd when Lehman will host Brooklyn in the first game and John Jay hosts Baruch in the second. Hunter will play the winner of #3/#6 on Friday, May 5^th at host site, CSI. The full tournament schedule is below.
