Flushing, N.Y.- Robert Novo and Mateo Penafiel earned weekly awards by the CUNYAC office, as announced on Thursday, following their performances earlier in the week. 

At the season-opening Rutgers Holiday Classic, Robert Novo turned in top-five finishes in the 800m (2:11.72) and mile (4:48.65) races to earn Track Athlete of the Week honors.

Mateo Penafiel was tabbed Rookie of the Week after making his first collegiate appearance at the same meet, where he registered top-five performances in the 800m (2:14.52) and mile (4:51.71) races.
