CUNYAC Softball Championship Weather Update

Due to rain, the tournament schedule has been altered

New York, NY - Due to rain, the schedule for the CUNYAC Softball Championship Tournament has been altered. The four remaining teams were set to play today with three games, possibly four, to determine the champion, but the conference office has made a change with action resuming tomorrow at the fields at Brooklyn College.

On May 3, the tournament began with a play with #4 Lehman advancing over #5 Brooklyn in the play-in game. On Friday, #3 Baruch lost to #2 John Jay while #1 Hunter defeated #4 Lehman. The original schedule for today was #3 Baruch to squaring off against #4 Lehman in the losers bracket while #2 John Jay went up against the top seeded Hawks. The loser of Baruch/Lehman would be eliminated while the winner would advance to play the loser of Hunter/John Jay.

However, due to rain and time constraints, the league office has made the determination to take the winners bracket teams, Hunter and John Jay, and pit them in a best of three series tomorrow for the championship while Baruch and Lehman will be eliminated. The first game tomorrow, Sunday May 8th will begin at 11am with the second game to follow. A third will be played if necessary and the winner will be crowned CUNYAC champions and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
