BOX SCORE 2 North Myrtle Beach, SC - The Hawks went 1-1 on the day grabbing their first win of the season with a win over Penn State Beaver, before dropping game 2 to Alvernia. Here is how it happened:
Game 1 PSU Beavsr at Hunter College
The Hawks were able to put together 7 hits and had 7 RBI's in the first win of the season. Three pitchers worked in the circle picking up a total of 4 strikeouts and only giving up 1 earned run,
Leah Dillon got the win.
Olivia Palumbo and
Brianna Musco each had 2 RBI's on the day. In the Bottom of the 4th with Hunter down 2-0 Leah Dillion led off with a single,
Paige Witalec drew walked and after a sacrifice, Johany Galva hit a single dirving in Dillon.
Brianna Musco drove in two on her single, giving the Hawks a 3-2 lead they never gave up.
In the bottom of the 6th Hunter scored 4 runs to open up a comfortable lead of 7-2, the big blow was a 2 run double hit by Olivia Paulmbo with 2 outs.
Game 2 Hunter at Alevernia
In game two the Hawks struggled on the field and in the box. Hunter dropped the game 12-0, they were no hit and made several errors. Coach Moroni said "That is not our brand of softball, we will regroup tonight and prepare to get back to the details and the fundamentals tomorrow".
