BOX SCORE 2 Hoboken, NJ - The defending CUNYAC Champions and Preseason #1 pick Hunter Hawks opened the 2023 season, traveling to Steven's Tech for a double header. The Hawks dropped both games 9-1 against the host.
In game #1 the Hawks gathered 3 hits with
Olivia Palumbo going 1-3 with a run scored,
Leah Dillon also going 1-3 with and RBI, driving Palumbo in on a double.
Sophia Perez went 1-2, the Hawks did not have any other base runners on the day,
Tea Panagakos was in the circle, she went 5 innings giving up 6 runs and registering 2 strikeouts against the Ducks.
Unfortunatly for the Hawks Game 2 was almost the same with the game wrapping up 9-1 and Hunter only gathering 3 hits. Johany Glava making her debut went 1-2, fellow Freshman
Brianna Flores went 1-2 with a run scored.
Leah Dillon was again able to drive in the run, and senior
Kayla Pilotti went 1-1 for the Hawks third hit.
Dillion was the starter in game 2 going 3 and 1/3 with 3 earned runs and 2 strikeouts.
Hunter travels to South Carolina next week for 8 games.
