Flushing, N.Y.- The City University of New York Athletic Conference announced its men's indoor track and field All-Star awards for the 2023-24 season with five from Hunter earning recognition.
Brian Guillermo earned his second All-Star appearance and was also named to the Sportsmanship team. Guillermo earned three individual medals at the conference championship meet this year, taking first in the men's 800m, second in the mile and bronze medal in the men's 3000m. He was also part of the winning DMR team alongside fellow All-Stars, Mateo Penafiel, Conor Sullivan, and Alexander Niyazov.
Penafiel also made his second appearance on the team after grabbing two individual conference champion titles, in the men's mile and 3000m.
Niyazov secured a silver medal of his own in the 3000m race as well, completed the Hawks' podium sweep.
Lastly. Jonathan Cauci earned his All-Star selection for his performance in the field. Cauci holds the CUNYAC title in the men's shot put.
