NEW YORK — Four members of the Hunter College men's tennis team were recognized in the 2025 CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) postseason awards, announced Friday morning, following a 3-2 conference record and 4-6 overall finish.
Alexander Hagiu was named a First Team All-Star after competing at No. 1 singles and doubles in all five conference matches. Hagiu earned singles wins against York, Lehman, and John Jay, each in straight sets, and posted an 8-1 doubles win with
Raymond Leu over John Jay. He also helped clinch a 4-3 nonconference victory over St. Joseph's–LI to open the spring.
Anil Singh was named to the Second Team after appearing at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles in all five CUNYAC contests. He recorded singles wins over York and Lehman and earned doubles victories with
Savio Francis in three conference matchups, including an 8-7 win over Brooklyn and an 8-0 result against Lehman.
Raymond Leu also earned Second Team honors after holding down the No. 3 singles position in each conference match. Leu won three CUNYAC singles matches, including back-to-back 6-0 sets against York and a 6-1, 6-0 finish at Lehman. He also paired with Hagiu for doubles wins against Lehman and John Jay.
Krishna Arya was selected to the CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team, an honor recognizing student-athletes for exemplary conduct on and off the court. Arya competed in doubles in all five conference matches, securing 8-0 victories at the No. 3 spot against York, Lehman, and John Jay. He also achieved straight-set singles wins in the final two CUNYAC matches of the season, defeating Lehman (6-3, 6-2) and John Jay (6-1, 6-2).
