KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence and Honors Court awards, with three Hunter College men's basketball players earning spots on the prestigious Honors Court for their academic success.
Captain Casey Meyers and fellow senior Enzo Caceres-Roussel, who both graduated with degrees in media studies this May, were recognized alongside junior Marcuz Casulla, an accounting major.
Meyers was a standout for the Hawks throughout his four-year career and earned a spot on the CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team in his senior season. The Boca Raton native scored 910 career points and knocked down 167 three-pointers, ranking in the top five in program history. He also totaled 271 assists, good for seventh all-time at Hunter, and 178 steals, the third-most in program history.
Caceres-Roussel was also named to the 2025 CUNYAC Vice Chancellor's Honor Roll after starting all 25 games this past season. With 153 total points, he had his best season during his senior year, highlighted by a double-double against Medgar Evers on Jan. 8, along with five other double-digit scoring performances.
Casulla appeared in eight games during the 2024-25 season and has been named a conference scholar-athlete each of the past two years.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes junior, senior, and graduate men's basketball student-athletes who concluded the academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The academic awards are presented annually to teams and individuals from all levels of college basketball.
"Education is one of the NABC's five core values, and we are proud to recognize the academic accomplishments of these programs and individual student-athletes across our sport," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The dedication and hard work of these athletes, along with their coaches and support staff members who prioritize academic success, deserves to be widely celebrated."
In total, more than 2,400 student-athletes earned Honors Court recognition, while nearly 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2024-25 academic year.
