NEW YORK, N.Y. - Hunter College women's indoor track and field delivered an impressive showing Friday at the Ramapo College Invitational, competing against a loaded field at the Armory Track and Field Center and producing several notable results that highlighted the Hawks' strength within the City University of New York Athletic Conference.
Shannon Ferri set the pace for Hunter in the women's mile, turning in a time of 5:43.32 to place 16th overall while emerging as the top finisher among CUNYAC athletes this season. Ferri's performance anchored a strong effort for the Hawks, with
Mikaelle Cesar following closely behind with a time of 5:50:21.
Cesar also played a key role in Hunter's success in the 4 x 400m relay, teaming up with
Orianna Blackman,
Rachelle Griffith, and
Tiara Smith to secure a seventh-place overall finish and cap off a productive day on the track.
In field events,
Becky Li led the way for the Purple and Gold, placing ninth overall in the triple jump with a mark of 9.93m. Li continued her strong day by adding a 15th-place finish in the long jump, recording a leap of 4.66m.
The squad will look to build on Friday's momentum as the Hawks continue their indoor season at the Armory for the Scarlet Knight Opener on February 6th.
