FLUSHING, N.Y.- The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its weekly award winners for women's indoor track and field with
Taelyn Murray of Hunter College earning Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Murray delivered a standout performance in the pentathlon this weekend, posting multiple top marks at the Scarlet Knight Opener and the DeSchriver Invitational.
At the Scarlet Knight Opener on Friday, Murray recorded a personal and conference-best mark of 11.64 meters (38 feet, 2.25 inches) in the shot put.
She followed that effort at the DeSchriver Invitational with a leap of 4.89 meters (16 feet, 0.5 inches) in the long jump, the top mark in the conference this season. Murray also turned in a distance of 10.48 meters (34 feet, 4.75 inches) in the triple jump, which ranks second in the conference.
The Hawks return to the track on Feb. 20 at the Garden State Invitational held at the Armory.
