NEW YORK, N.Y.- The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2026-27 season on Thursday morning.

Hunter was selected seventh, as the team will look to improve on last season's record with the addition of eight new Hawks this year. Notable returners for the Purple and Gold include starters Demetrios Kontos and Kristian Nunez, as well as the upcoming year's Player to Watch in Sloan Ireland.

Ireland led returning Hawks last season, averaging 7.2 points per game and 6.7 rebounds.

Lehman led the poll, followed by CCNY and Brooklyn College. Baruch was tabbed fourth, while John Jay and York took fifth and sixth, respectively. Hunter earned seventh ahead of Medgar Evers to round out the conference.

Hunter kicks off its season on Nov. 11 for a 7 p.m. Start at Old Westbury.
