WALTHAM, Mass. — The Hunter College women's fencing team continued its season Saturday at the Eric Sollee Invitational, a seven-team event hosted by Brandeis University.
The Hawks were unable to generate sustained momentum, dropping all six dual meets on the day. Hunter's closest showings came against MIT and Wellesley College, with both contests ending in identical 23–4 decisions.
The foil squad provided much of Hunter's production, accounting for nine of the Hawks' 16 total bout victories. Junior
Brean Tobin paced the squad with six wins, while Freshman
Julia Stenger added two foil victories.
Katherine Hanin delivered Hunter's top individual performance, leading all Hawks with eight épée victories while recording 67 total touches across 18 bouts.
The Hawks will look to regroup and rebound in their next competition Feb. 8 in Hoboken, N.J., against Stevens Tech.
