QUEENS, N.Y. - The Hunter College men's outdoor track and field team turned in a series of standout performances at the Big Hurt Invitational, hosted by St. John's, highlighted by three first-place finishes and several strong showings across multiple events.
Dylan Asuncion led the way in the field events, capturing first place in the triple jump with a mark of 12.07m. He continued his impressive day placing third in the high jump (1.55m) and added a fourth-place result in the long jump (5.53m), showcasing his versatility.
On the track,
Mateo Penafiel delivered a winning performance in the 5000m race, crossing the finish line in 17:23.12 to secure another top finish for the Hawks.
Jack Treacher added to the team's success with a first-place finish in the 400H, clocking in at 1:06.89.
Hunter also saw a strong relay performance from the quartet of Joscan Crespo,
Marquis Barkley,
Benjamin Landheim, and Asuncion, as the group placed fifth in the 4x100m.
The Hawks will return to competition on April 2 in Union, New Jersey, where they are set to compete in the Kean Cougars Distance Carnival & Throws Throwdown.
