Kings Point, NY – Senior 197 pounder Brian Scher (Levittown, NY/MacArthur) improved to 5-0 on the season with a 10-2 major decision over Judd Connell, but this was just one of three wins for the Hawks as they fall to the #14 United States Merchant Marine Academy, 34-13 in a dual wrestling meet on Wednesday in Kings Point, NY.

Freshman 125 pounder Greg Pollock (Milburn, NJ/Milburn) opened the match with 11-3 major decision over freshman Pat Graham (Greensboro , NC/Ragsdale) to improve his season mark to 4-2. Freshman 133 pounder Sean Messina (West Islip, NY/West Islip) remained unbeaten on the season, picking up a win via forfeit.

The Hawks now fall to 3-3 in dual meet action, while the Mariners are now 1-0 on the year. The Hunter grapplers will return to the mat on Sunday, December 14 when they travel to Hackettstown, NJ for a tri-match with Centenary College and Yeshiva University, starting at Noon.
