Zacarias Ripoll (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) follows that up that performance with his first career triple-double, recording 17 assists, ten kills and ten digs in a 3-0 (30-27, 30-24, 30-24) win over City College of New York in CUNYAC men's volleyball action on a snowy Tuesday evening at the Hunter Sportsplex.
Freshman outside hitter
Pablo Oliveira (Brazil/Newcomers) had a game high 18 kills and 13 digs for the Hawks, while freshman middle blocker
Eryk Kowalski (Poland/Environmental Studies) added nine kills in two games. Freshman setter
Aaron Colon (Bronx, NY/Lehman) added 31 assists and five digs for the Hawks.
Freshman outside hitter
Christopher Aviles (New York, NY/Fort Hamilton) led the Beavers with 15 kills, while junior setter
Carlos Matute (Ecuador/Grover Cleveland) added 36 assists and five digs.
After tonight's win, the Hawks improve to 9-3 on the year and remain unbeaten in the CUNYAC with a 3-0 record. The Hawks return to action on Saturday, February 16 when they host Sacred Heard University for a 1:00 p.m. match.
