NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's volleyball team earned multiple honors from the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) post season awards following a strong 2026 regular season campaign, highlighted by Ahmed Mohamed being named CUNYAC Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference.

Mohamed delivered one of the most dominant seasons in program history, leading the conference in both total points (416.5) and kills per set (4.24) while finishing second in the nation in aces per set at 0.83. The junior outside hitter totaled 339 kills and 66 service aces on the season, adding 158 digs (1.98 per set) and a .297 hitting percentage. Mohamed's all-around performance earned him five CUNYAC Player of the Week selections along with three honorable mention nods throughout the season.

Sophomore Sebastian Gomez was recognized with Second Team All-Conference honors after a consistent offensive campaign. Gomez recorded 178 kills (2.23 per set) and 205.5 total points (2.57 per set), while ranking among the conference leaders with a .271 hitting percentage. He also contributed defensively with 44 total blocks (0.55 per set) and 36 digs.

Brandon Yeh represented the Hawks on the CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team. The setter averaged 1.69 assists per set to go along with 0.43 digs per set and 0.19 service aces per set, providing steady leadership and composure throughout the season.

As a team, Hunter posted a 17-8 overall record and went 6-2 in conference play, finishing among the top teams in CUNYAC while ranking first in the conference in kills per set (12.3) and aces per set (2.1).

The Hawks will look to return to the conference championship game tonight as they host No. 3 Baruch College in the semifinals at 6 p.m. in the Sportsplex. The winner will advance to the finals, hosted at Hunter on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
