New York, NY – Freshman middle blocker
Eryk Kowalski (Poland/Environmental Studies) hit a team high .705 with six kills and added three solo blocks and three digs as Hunter swept past Lehman 3-0 (30-14, 30-17, 30-24) in their first CUNY Athletic Conference match of the season in men's volleyball Tuesday evening at the Hunter Sportsplex.
Junior middle blocker
Shandu Foster (Long Island City, NY /Academy of American Studies) led the Hawks in kills with nine and hit .538 in two games of action. Freshman outside hitter
Pablo Oliveira (Brazil/Newcomers) added seven kills and ten digs, while fellow freshman outside hitter
Wojciech Jakubiak (Poland/Grover Cleveland) also finished with seven kills and added eight digs.
Lehman was led by freshman
Jonathan Cruz (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy) who had a team high of eight kills and seven digs, senior setter
Joel Sanchez (Bronx, NY/Lehman) tallied 16 assists in the defeat.
The Hawks improve to 7-2 on the year, 1-0 in the conference and will next face Ramapo College on Thursday, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hunter Sportsplex. Ramapo enters Thursday's match with an 8-1 overall record.
