Hoboken, NJ – Freshman outside hitter
Wojciech Jakubiak (Poland/Grover Cleveland) recorded a team high 18 kills and had ten digs to help advance the Hawks to the Finals of the ECAC Championship Tournament with a 3-1 (30-26, 30-26, 27-30, 30-25) victory over Baruch College, the Hawks fifth win over the Bearcats this season, in the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship at the Canavan Arena in Hoboken, NJ.
Sophomore setter
Zacarias Ripoll (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) also had a huge game, recording his fifth triple double of the season with ten kills, 41 assists and 14 digs. Freshman middle blocker
Eryk Kowalski (Poland/Environmental Studies) added ten Kills and four total blocks for the Hawks.
The CUNY Athletic Conference Player of the Year, junior middle blocker
Danial Levent (Forest Hills, NY/American Studies) had a match high 21 kills for the Bearcats who finish their season 23-14. Hunter improved to 31-4 on the season.
The Hawks will now face the top seeded ECAC Champion Stevens Institute of Technology who swept Bard College in their semifinal match 3-0.
