Riverdale, NY – Sophomore outside hitter Wojciech Jakubiak (Poreba, Poland/Grover Cleveland) hit a match high ten kills to lead the Hawks to a 3-0 (30-20, 30-19, 30-18) sweep over the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Hunter's season opening Thursday night at Hayes Gymnasium in Riverdale, NY.

Freshman middle hitter Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) was impressive in his collegiate debut, hitting .571 with nine kills and had three total blocks. Junior setter Zacarias Ripoll (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) had a match high 22 assists while also adding six kills and two aces.

Freshman opposite Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) had a team high eight kills for the Dolphins who now drop to 1-1 on the season.

The Hawks will remain on the road as they head to Mahwah, NJ for a tri-match on Sunday, January 18 against the Roadrunner of Ramapo College at 11:00 a.m. and Newberry College at 1:00 p.m.
