Zacarias Ripoll (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) recorded 20 kills, 38 assits and ten digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Wojciech Jakubiak (Poreba, Poland/Grover Cleveland) finished with 20 kills, 11 assists and 12 digs to lead the Hawks to a thrilling 3-2 (26-30, 30-25, 27-30, 30-26, 18-16) victory over New Paltz on the road Thursday night.
Freshman middle blocker
Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) hit 14 kills and six digs, while fellow freshman
Jerin Kallickal (Kerala, India/Swanhakal) finished with 13 kills and eights digs. Senior middle blocker
Shandu Foster (Long Island City, NY/Academy of American Studies) had a team high five total blocks, which was matched by
Ripoll. Senior opposite
Miguel Pena (Las Vegas, NV/Las Vegas) rounded things out for the Hawks with 22 assists and 17 digs.
Hunter will remain on the road as they head to Hoboken, NJ on Friday for the first day of the Stevens Invitational where the Hawks will face #8 Nazareth College at 5:00 p.m. and #5 Stevens at 7:00 p.m.
