New York, NY – Freshman Matt Cartusciello (Staten Island, NY/Petrides) scored a 6:30 pin to put the Hawks on the board, but the Hawks rally came too late in the match as they drop a 30-15 decision to #12 Wilkes University in a wrestling match Saturday afternoon at the Hunter Sportsplex.

Senior Billy Calvacca (Levittown, NY/MacArthur) earned an 8-4 decision at 165 pounds and helped cut the lead to 13-9. Competing at 197 pounds today, sophomore Joey Scott (Walden, NY/Valley Central) found himself behind 2-1 after one period, but was able to tie things up in the second before scoring a 4:39 pin for the Hawks final victory of the day.

The Hawks return to the mat next Saturday when they host the 2009 Metro vs. New England Challenge which will feature The College of New Jersey, New York University, Roger Williams, Williams College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
