Box Score
New York, NY – Senior forward
Oscar Dotti (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) scored his second goal of the season on a header after receiving a corner kick from junior
Mario Baez (Astoria, NY/Long Island City) to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead and eventual win over John Jay College Saturday night on Randall's Island.
Dotti's goal came in the 47th minute after the Hawks had various other prior opportunities to score as they dominated the field, only giving up three shots in the first half. The Hawks defense made many big plays throughout the game, never giving the Bloodhounds a chance to build up an offensive attack.
Freshman keeper
Alexandre Ilic (Miami, FL/Miami Killian Senior High) records his third shutout of the season, making two saves, after facing four shots. For the Bloodhounds, sophomore Joseph Rahilly (Malverne, NY/Malverne) had 15 saves in net.
Following tonight's victory, the Hawks improve to 4-7-1 on the year and slide into third place in the conference with a 4-2 record, while John Jay falls to 2-9-2 and 1-4-2 in the CUNYAC. Hunter will be back on the pitch on Monday, when they are scheduled to play N.Y. City Tech on Randall's Island at Noon.
