Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo), who was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season earlier in the week, hit a match high .692 (10-1-13) and had three serving aces to lead the Hawks to a 3-0 (30-11, 30-6, 30-16) victory over Medgar Evers in the conference finale Tuesday night in Brooklyn, NY.
Senior middle blocker
Shandu Foster (Long Island City, NY/Academy of American Studies) also put up a solid match for the Hawks, hitting 12 kills with four aces and three digs, while freshman outside hitter
Jerin Kallickal (Kerala, India/Swanhakal) had a career high nine serving aces. Freshman setter
Brendan Feng (Jackson Heights, NY/Hunter) tallied 19 assists in two sets.
The Hawks, who now finish the season with a 10-2 conference record, will enter next week's CUNYAC Championship Tournament as the second seed and are scheduled to play Lehman College on Tuesday, March 24 in a Quarterfinal match at the Sportsplex at 6:00 p.m.
