Stevenson, MD – The 2009 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, freshman middle blocker Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) can now add ECAC Most Outstanding Player to his list of accolades after he finishing with a match high 17 kills, hitting .500 and had four total blocks to lead the Hawks to a 3-0 (30-27, 30-28, 30-26) sweep of Stevenson University to win their second consecutive ECAC Championship on the Mustangs home floor in Stevenson, Maryland.

Sophomore outside hitter Wojciech Jakubiak (Poreba, Poland/Grover Cleveland) also had a big match, finishing with 12 kills and 14 digs. The leader in the first match, freshman outside hitter Jerin Kallickal (Kerala, India/Sewanhaka), added ten more kills to his totals on the day along with 12 digs and senior middle blocker Shandu Foster (Long Island City, NY/Academy of American Studies) added seven kills and four total blocks. Junior setter Zacarias Ripoll (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) tallied 44 assists, ten digs and five kills.

The Hawks close out the 2009 season with a 25-16 record and won the program's second ECAC Championship.
