New York, NY - On Tuesday, November 23 the wrestling team played host to the Yellow Jackets of American International College.  Despite grabbing five wins, the the Hawks were edged out by a score of 20-16, still in search of their first win of the season.
 
At the 125 weight class, Junior Oliver Lopez defeated Yellow Jacket Josh Rollins by a 3-0 decision to put the Hawks up. Junior Sean Messina defeated Chris Hoffman 9-5 at the 141 weight class by a technical fall. The third Hawk win came in the 149 weight class where Junior Matt Cartusciello kept the team score close as he defeated Matt Wagy by major decision 10-1.
 
At the 174 weight class, Sophomore Jesse Capello-Colon defeated Angel Mazara, 6-3 and capping off the meet, Oliver Astone grabbed the last win for the Hawks with a 6-5 victory over Raul Gonzalez, but it was not enough as they lost by four points.
 
Hunter is back in action on Friday, December 3rd when they host Stevens Institute of Technology at 3:30 during Homecoming.
