Hawks Sweep Bulldogs, 3-0

New York, NY – Sophomore middle blocker Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) finished with a match high ten kills, along with seven digs and five aces to help lead the Hawks to a 3-0 (30-11, 30-9, 30-22) victory over Brooklyn College in CUNU Athletic Conference men's volleyball action Thursday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.

Junior outside hitter Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) hit .500 with eight kills, and also have a match high seven aces along with 13 digs. Freshman middle blocker Braien Otsla (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) also had a nice outing with nine kills, four digs, three aces and two assisted blocks. Senior setter Zacarias Ripoll-Cid (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) tallied 37 assists along with four digs and two assisted blocks.

Bulldog outside hitter Rogelio Griffith led his team with seven kills, he was followed by sophomore outside hitter Mohammed Taman with four kills.

Hunter (9-6, 7-0 CUNYAC) will be back in action on Saturday when they host Baruch College and Lehman College for the second multi-match of the season with the Hawks and Bearcats facing off at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Hawks and Lightning at 11:00 a.m.
