Jeremy Grubler (Bayside, NY/Bayside) had his best game in a Hawk uniform on Sunday, finishing with nine kills and seven assisted blocks to help the Hawks to a 3-1 (30-15, 30-23, 26-30, 30-23) over New Jersey City University in non-conference men's volleyball action at the John J. Moore Athletic and Fitness Center in Jersey City, NJ.
Senior outside hitter
Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) had a solid match for the Hawks with a team high 19 kills, 11 digs and five total blocks, while junior outside hitter
Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) contributed with 13 kills and 11 digs.
The Gothic Knights got a big performance out of sophomore opposite Austin Bryant, who had a match high 21 kills and eight assisted blocks.
Hunter (13-7, 9-1 CUNYAC) will now head uptown for a CUNY Athletic Conference matchup with The City College of New York (5-12, 3-4 CUNYAC) on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
