New York, NY – Sophomore outside hitter
Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) hit a match high 18 kills, but after winning the first set, the Hawks weren't able to get another as the #4 Baruch Bearcats defeat Hunter for the second time this season via a 3-1 (28-30, 30-22, 33-31, 30-27) victory in CUNY Athletic Conference men's volleyball action Tuesday night at the ARC.
The Hawks also got big matches out of junior outside hitter
Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) who had 16 kills and three total blocks, while two-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week
Braien Otsla (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) added ten kills and eight total blocks.
For the Bearcats, junior middle blocker Erik Kowalski led his team with 16 kills and six total blocks. Fellow junior Pablo Oliveira also had 16 kills, followed by junior opposite Santos Rivera with 14 kills and four assisted blocks.
Hunter (16-8, 11-2 CUNYAC) return home on Thursday when they are scheduled to host the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent for a 6:00 p.m. match at the Sportsplex.
