Hawks Continue Win Streak, Sweep Brooklyn 3-0

New York, NY - Freshman middle blocker Braien Otsla (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) finished with a match high 11 kills, including two aces along with six digs and four blocks to help lead the Hawks to a 3-0 (30-18, 30-10, 30-22) victory over Brooklyn College at the CUNYAC Multi-match held Saturday morning at CCNY's Nat Holman Gymnasium.

Junior outside hitter Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) had ten kills, along with ten digs and a match high three aces. Sophomore middle blocker Roman Siromakha (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) also had a nice outing with nine kills and four digs. Senior setter Zacarias Ripoll-Cid (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) had 22 assists in two sets while sophomore libero/setter Brendan Feng (Jackson Heights, NY / Hunter) had 16 assists while only playing in one set.

The Bulldogs were led by sophomore outside hitter Mohamed Taman with nine kills and sophomore outside hitter David Choy with eight kills.

Hunter (16-7, 10-1 CUNYAC) will now be back in action on Tuesday when they will head down Lexington Ave to face rival Baruch College at 6:00 p.m.
