Hunter vs. Baruch Box Score

NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter College men's volleyball team suffered a pair of tough luck losses against Medaille College and host Baruch College at the Bearcats' tri-match Saturday afternoon held at the ARC Arena.

The Hawks (0-5) lost the first game of the day 3-2 (25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 13-15) against host and CUNYAC foe Baruch College (1-0). Despite taking a 2-1 lead through the first three sets, the Bearcats rallied in the final two sets to take the match. Chris Newcomb led the squad with a game-high 21 kills on .275 attacking while Eric Barty added 11 kills in the Hawk loss.

In the second game, Hunter again seemed poised for victory when it jumped out to a 2-0 lead against the Medaille Mavericks (1-1) but once again, the opponents rallied in three straight sets to take claim the 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 23-25, 13-15) victory this afternoon.

The Hawks return to action next Saturday, Feb. 4 when they host Medgar Evers College at 9am in the first CUNYAC match of the season.
