NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter College men's volleyball team notched its second-straight CUNYAC victory when it defeated the CCNY Beavers, 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-21) at Nat Holman Gymnasium on Thursday evening.
Hunter moves to 2-6 on the year and 2-0 in the CUNYAC while CCNY falls to 1-8 and 0-2 in the league.

Eric Barty each finished with five kills on the night while
Christopher Newcomb led the Hawks with three service aces.
A true team effort saw Hunter finish with 32 kills on an impressive .385 attacking percentage while teh squad also managed 10 service aces and 10 blocks.
The Hawks dominated from the onset in set one, going on a nine point run to make it a 14-3 affair early and put the Beavers out of reach in a 25-11 win. Set two featured more of the same as Hunter pushed ahead 6-1. CCNY would tally two more points but the Hawks responded resoundly, scoring five more to make it an 11-3 affair. Hunter played soundly in the second set, recording 11 kills and just one error on twenty attempts for a .500 attacking percentage.
The third and final set was a tougher battle as CCNY matched Hunter point-for-point. Tied at 18-all, a Beaver attack error followed by a John Gemeguh service ace and kill from Kallickal made it a 20-18 game in favor of the Hawks. The Beavers notched a point on a service error but Hunter remained determined, retailiating with two points to make it a 22-19 game.
CCNY grabbed a pair of points next to cut Hunter's lead to just one (22-21) but the Hawks closed the door, utilzing a kill from
Braien Otsla and back-to-back kills from Hot to capture the 25-21 win and take tonight's match, 3-0.
Hunter returns to the court this Friday, February 10th when it hosts NJCU at the Hunter Sportsplex. The match is slated to start at 6pm.
