NEW YORK, NY - The #12 Hunter College men's volleyball team defeated Lehman College in straight sets (25-13, 25-19, 25-16) on Tuesday evening to run its win streak to 11 consecutive matches.
Hunter (15-7, 11-0 CUNYAC) managed 35 kills on .303 attacking in the win as it limited Lehman (14-8, 8-5 CUNYAC) to just 26 kills on .061 attacking.
The Hawks, led by
Christopher Newcomb who finished with nine kills on an impressive .615 attacking effort, managed a tottal of four service aces and eight team blocks in contrast with Lehman who had zero service aces and just three team blocks.

Eric Barty who added seven kills as well as a block assist why
Stanley Martinez finished with a match-tying 22 assists and three kills on a perfect 1.000 attacking.
The Hawks claimed the first set with ease, defeating the Lightning 25-13 however Lehman played the second set much closer. Tied at 9-9, the Hawks went on a four-point run to push ahead 13-9 to widen the gap. With a 19-15 advantage, the Hawks outscored Lehman 7-4 to close out the set with a 25-19 victory.
In the final set, Hunter sprinted out to a 12-2 advantage and would go on another run to 18-5. The Lightning scored four points to make it a 18-9 contest but the match was all but over. Hunter regained control and led 24-13 before Lehman scored its final three points of the set as an LC attack error resulted in the winning point for Hunter, 25-13.
The Hawks return to action on Thursday, March 22 with a big conference rivalry game against #14 Baruch. The game will be played at Baruch in the ARC and is scheduled for a 6pm start.
