Wrestling Drops Three at MIWA

RESULTS:
vs. Delaware Valley
vs. Elizabethtown
vs. Wilkes

Hackettstown, N.J - The wrestling team competed in MIWA Duals this past weekend hosted by Centenary College.  The Hawks dropped all three matches, with the closet one being against Elizabethtown College, 21-18. 

The men dropped a tough 32-3 decision to Delaware Valley, with sophomore Jesse Bader having a 3-2 decision of Nick Della Fera in the 165 pound class.  Freshman Dennis Melendez also had a decision against Connor Gabriel in overtime, 5-3 in the 184 pound weight class.  The would be the final win for the Hawks as the Aggies would take the rest of the weight classes. 

Following that was a close 21-18 loss to Elizabethtown.  Freshman Jaydon Rice have a 5-1 decision over his opponent in the 125 pound class, followed by a 13-9 decision by Kenny Albert over his opponent in the 133 weight class.  Senior Chris Gogatz had a 6-5 decision over Jesse Meaney in the 141 weight class, while senior Jesse Capello-Colon had a 4-2 desicion over his opponent.  Sophomore standout Jesse Bader pinned his opponent at 2:07 at 165, but that would be the last win for Hunter as Elizabethtown swetp the 174-285 weight classes for the win.

Against Wilkes, Rice was the lone Hawk who won his match with a 7-2 decision of Guessppe Rae, 7-2.  Wilkes would go on to defeat Hunter 38-3.

The Hawks are back in action on February 2nd, when they host the Metro/New England Duals.
