New York, N.Y. - The men's volleyball team was defeated by the Bearcats of Baruch College last night in a very intense CUNYAC match-up, 3-1 (17-25, 25-27, 25-20, 25-23). With the loss, the Hawks fall to 1-7, 1-1 CUNYAC while the Bearcats improve to 6-1, 1-0 CUNYAC.

Braien Otsla added 12 kills, two service aces, two digs, and two blocks while Alexandru Barbulescu chipped in with eight kills. Stanley Martinez tallied 48 assists. The Bearcats were led by Steven Coniglio with 13 kills, followed by Nick Smith who added 11.

After winning the third set, the Hawks trailed 13-19 in the fourth, but rallied back to tie it at 21-21. Back and fourth points proved another tie at 23-23 but a kill by the Bearcats and a attack error by the Hawks helped the Bearcats to the victory in front of the large crowd.

The Hawks are back in action on Tuesday, February 26th when they travel to Brooklyn, N.Y. to take on the Bulldogs.
