New York, N.Y. - The Hunter College men's volleyball team chalked up two more victories in the win column on Thursday night at the Sportsplex in a double-header against CUNYAC rivals, Medgar Evers. After forfeiting the first two sets of the inital game, Hunter hammered home a 25-1 final set to take the first game. In the second, the Hawks quickly pounded home 25 points in straight sets while not allowing their counterparts to score more than nine points. With the wins, Hunter moves to 9-8, 8-1 CUNYAC.
First Game
After starting the match up 2-0 due to fofeits,
Nino Hot and Moshood Jinad put away four kills apiece while
Stanley Martinez kicked in with the final two while earning six assists as Hunter easily walked away with a 25-1 third set victory.
Second Game
The Hawks raced to 25 in straights sets while not allowing Medgar Evers to get close (25-9, 25-3, 25-8). Leading the way for Hunter was Matthew Ng who posted a game high 12 kills on 17 attempts without an error for an impressive .706 hitting percentage. Jinad followed up his teammate's performance with eight kills of her own while Martinez and
Braien Otsla combined for nine kills. Martinez posted a game high 24 assists in the win.
Hunter is back in action on Tuesday, March 19 when they visit the Beavers of CCNY in a conference contest beginning at 7pm.
